This one day course will explore the use of a variety of Winter/Spring woodland plants and trees to create items used in cosmetics.

You will learn how to select material, what seasons to gather, how to wild harvest and how to store, prepare or dry your ingredients.

The morning will start with a small trip into the woods (subject to the weather and to peoples interest) to gather materials (we will also use some pre-prepared materials) followed by the rest of the day making a range of products which may include cold process soap, melt and pout soap, shampoo bars, conditioner bars, balms and salves and deodorants.

You will need to bring a wipe clean apron, wear covered shoes and have clothing which covers your arms.

Please be aware that this course will use Citrol and should not be attended by those with a Citrol allergy.

There will be a follow on course in Autumn (Autumn Aches and Pains) gathering and using autumnal /summer plants and trees making a range of products which may include cover bath bags, salts and soaks, body butters, poultices, compresses and syrups.

Please let us know if you have any specific requirements or needs. All materials and tool use are provided for you on the day. Refreshments and biscuits throughout the course. Please bring a packed lunch, notebook and pen and wear suitable clothes for working outdoors.

Refundable up to two weeks prior to course (minus £30 admin fee). No refunds for cancellations within two weeks of course. All adult courses are for 16 years or over.
