Two day course

A course designed for students with some experience of green woodworking to develop their skills to the point of independent making.  The two fundamental tools needed by a green woodworker are a chopping block and a shave horse.  This 2 day course will enable you to build these essentials for a portable and re useable green woodworking workshop.   

Aims:  To expand your knowledge of green wood working and to make a chopping block and a shave horse

The course covers:

• Health and safety
• Select wood for projects
• Split green wood with axes and wedges
• Use a side axe to rough out shapes
• Use a drawknife to shape split wood
• Make mortice and tenon joints
• Using a shave horse to get ideas for further projects
