Woodcarving

Students should gain a good understanding of the fundamentals of fine woodcarving techniques and practices. The tutor will teach you how to select and look after tools and how to design, mark out and carve simple incised and relief patterns in hard wood and encourage and direct individuals to use their talents effectively. You can expect to complete a piece of work in the time available.
Aims
The course is designed to introduce students to the specific skills and techniques involved in woodcarving, including carving beautiful letters into hardwood and relief carving.
The course covers:
Arrive: 15 minutes prior to a 9:30am start
Depart: 4pm, although this is approximate.

What to bring: work clothes, pen and notebook, packed lunch
