Our Tutor is a skilled Woodsman who makes greenwood craft for a living and is keen to enthuse new converts to green woodworking

Aims:

The course introduces students to basic pole lathe turning using greenwood.  Make either a garden dibber, spurtle or spatula.

The course covers:

• Health and Safety
•  Consider different types of wood and what you can make from it.
•  What sort of tools used in Greenwood Craft, and how to use them.
•  Cleaving or Reaving from Hazel rods to large billets.
•  Cleaving breaks and shaving horses. What they are and how you can use them.
