Art in the Woods - £80
27th July & 31st August 2014 9:30am - 4:00pm
Since prehistoric times people have been inspired to draw the natural world around them.
Responding creatively to the woods our focus can take us from the intricate and delicate veins of leaves to the grand solidity of the great trees, and from the movement of birds wings to the change of the seasons.
Each day will offer a range of exercises that help us to become focused in on what is around us, to really see and to discover what is essential for us through creatively exploration.
Using both outdoor and indoor spaces we will work with a range of materials such as pencil, charcoal, oil pastels and paint, with a range of techniques including collage and mixed media. Learn how to make your own charcoal from willow to draw with, learn how to make drawing tools from sticks - and perhaps make ink as well!
Learning to work outdoors frees us up to be bold, playful and experimental – to simply enjoy the process of mark making.
